I have nearly 25 years’ experience in the membership and professional bodies sector, much of it spent working with members, subject matter experts and other stakeholders to deliver new learning, development and content solutions.

 

For 20+ years, I was a member of the team at the Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland, seven of those years as a member of the executive team. Originally recruited to manage and edit the Institute’s magazine, I went on to enjoy responsibility for a range of professional development activities, from qualifications and training to membership, events and books. 

 

I’m lucky to have done a lot of different things. I’ve written and edited for senior audiences, chaired events, co-designed and launched training and leadership development programmes, led on member/student renewals, co-crafted competency standards, written funding bids, graded exam papers, chaired committees and presented to the board. I’m a Member of the Institute of Directors (IoD) and a qualified PRINCE2 Practitioner in Project Management. 

 

Problem-solving, creating opportunities and driving change have been at the heart of much of what I’ve done. I’ve been privileged to work with some great people and, as the name at the top of this page says, I firmly believe we grow by learning.
